The metal tube on the inlet of the filter housing ('33') has the thermostatically-controlled flap above the flexible tube ('34'), which leads down to the shroud round the cast-iron manifold ('35', '36').

The filters clamp onto the stubs on the air-box with Jubilee clips, however when I repainted the air-box silver the filters kept coming off - fortunately not dropping down onto the exhaust manifolds, until I took the stubs back to bare metal.
